The active ingredients of RejuvenX are non-absorbable, not-toxic substances that function solely to increase the viscosity of the intestinal contents. RejuvenX differs fundamentally from other weight loss products in that it does not increase intestinal bulk, nor serve as a source of dietary fiber. It is free of pharmacological agents that directly suppress appetite or influence metabolic processes. Since the ingredients are not absorbed, the mechanism of action is physic-chemical rather than pharmacological.

Increasing the viscosity of the intestinal contents causes ingested food to pass through the intestinal tract more slowly, allowing the food to be digested more thoroughly. A slowed-down passage of the intestinal contents in turn helps to maintain the feeling of satiety one is getting after a meal, causing one to feel less hungry and to eat less.

The slowed-down passage of the intestinal contents indirectly affects regulatory processes that are normally operating during the digestive process. One of them is the release of Leptin, the hormone produced by fat cells, into the bloodstream. An animal study demonstrated that plasma Leptin levels decrease with increased viscosity of the intestinal content. However, RejuvenX does not inhibit Leptin production, it only causes it to remain inside the fat cells. The Leptin inside the cells stimulates fat burning and results in the diminution of body fat deposits. The energy released causes people using the product not to feel hungry and exhausted while dieting.
